Panch
Kedar are the five different forms of Hindu
God Shiva known as Kedarnath (3584 m), Madmaheshwar
(3229m), Tungnath (3810 m), Rudranath (2286
m) and Kalpnath (2134 m).
After staying in Delhi for two days, we
proceed to Rishikesh, known as Abode of
God. It is a pilgrim place for Indians and
a tourist attraction for the foreigners,
It's a gateway to the most of the trek in
Garhwal. |

You stay here for the local sightseeing and than
proceed to Kedarnathji. The first and the foremost
is the famous temple of Kedarnathji, which is
widely known for its extraordinary sanctity.
From Guptakashi, you trek to Ransi and stay overnight
there. From Ransi to Kalimath-is a extravagantly
beautiful scenic settings, from where the mountains
are visible. Reach Gaundhar and from Gaundhar
to Madmaheshwar and back, the trek continues.
Here at a height of 3289 meters is a magnificent
Shiva temple, approachable through a trekking
route only that passes through the famous Sidthpeeth
of Kalimath.
With a backdrop of the Chaukhamba, Kedarnath and
Nilkanth, the beauty is unparalleled. From Madmaheshwar,
trek to Guptakashi and stay overnight in the tourist
rest house. From Chopta, trek to Tungnath, which
is set on the crest of a hill, at an elevation
of 3680 meters. From the temple, one can view
the peaks of Panchuli, Nandadevi, Dunagiri, Nilkanth,
Kedarnath and Bander Poonch etc.
Trek back to Chopta, take a 25 km drive to Mandal
and trek to Ansuyadevi. Stay overnight in the
tourist rest house and next day trek to Rudranath
(2286 meters), all around are fragrant flowers
laden meadows where herbs grow in abundance. In
the background are the snowclad peaks of Trishul,
Nandadevi and Devasthan.
From Rudranath, we trek to Kalpeshwar, which is
a gradual climb. From Kalpeshwar, proceed to a
beautiful village known as Urgam. Overnight at
Urgam. Next morning, trek to Heleng and from Heleng
drive back to Joshimath.

trek is along the old pilgrim route from
Gangotri to Kedarnathji. From Gangotri,
come down to Mala by motorboat. The actual
trek begins from Mala after crossing the
river Bhagirathi. The trek is on level upto
Sauri-ki-gad and from this point the climb
to Belak is gradual.
From Belak to Budha Kedar to Panwali, it
is an uphill climb through terraced fields

that place. At Gaurikund we can start our
journey by taking bath in hot sulpher spring.
